It's official! After a 6-year hiatus, resurrecting my first NaNoWriMo Novel, and nearly writing my hands off all year, I'm committing to NaNoWriMo 2015...which means writing a NEW novel (50,000 words) in 30 Days during the month of November!
Writing Accomplishments So Far
You may recall the struggle I discussed in my first attempt at NaNoWriMo (acronym for National Novel Writing Month). Long story short, it was back in 2009. I won NaNoWriMo for that year, but it took until June 24th of this year to finally write the words "The End." As I write this blog post, that novel is currently in its editing stages.
One of my main goals for this year was to write my heart out and prove to myself that I could indeed become an actual author of fiction. In the process since beginning this journey in January of this year, I've already accomplished so much...
Joined 2 Writing Groups
Joined and passed several online writing courses with flying colors
Revised and written several short stories now available to the public
Completed my first NaNoWriMo novel (mentioned above) as well as a 20,000+ word book on goal setting and achieving goals (currently awaiting edits)
Written a whopping 25 blog posts/articles right here on my blog (the one you're currently reading makes 26)
Why this INSANE Commitment to Participate in NaNoWriMo 2015?
So why—you may be wondering—in the middle of all the production I've already done, and that which I'm still currently working on in the form of two full-length books, am I committing to this insane task of writing another novel-length project for NaNoWriMo 2015?
I'm glad you (might've) asked. Here's the rub.
